Pierre’s Resume:

·Optimum Reassurance, 1989-2005: As Vice-President, Group Development,  Pierre has served over half of all Canadian Group insurers, including the big-3: Manulife Financial, Great-West Life and Sun Life.  His areas of specialty extends to Group Life, AD&D, LTD, Critical Illness, Special Risks, Travel and Expats/Inpats. In addition, he has helped several ceding companies set up risk-transfer reinsurance programs, including stop-loss, quota-share, catastrophe and financial reinsurance  for large employers and health and welfare trusts via traditional means or captives. Finally, Pierre has successfully organized eight Seminars on Out-of-Country Medical attended by well over 100 participants from Canada and the USA;

·Blue Cross/ Canassurance 1984-1989: As Director of Group Underwriting and Actuarial,  Pierre has set up the first-ever decentralized Group quotation program as well as a renewal and retention accounting systems. In addition, has managed large Group accounts such as Hydro-Québec, Bell Canada, CN retirees (has developed a flex-plan for  20000 retirees), Canadian Pacific,  the Quebec Bar, Chrysler Canada and General Motors Canada

·Sun Life 1981-1984: As Assistant Actuary, has been Account Executive or has worked closely on numerous large Group accounts: Government of Canada, Alcan, Becancour, Asea Brown Bovary, Consolidated Bathurst, New Brunswick Power;

·William M. Mercer 1979-1981: Has worked on several large pension plan accounts such as Air Canada, Via Rail and Domtar.

Pierre has also served his actuarial profession and his industry as volunteer. From 1989 to 1999, he has championed major intercompany studies: 1989, 1990 and 1991Group Mortality studies and the first-ever 1987-1994 Canadian Group LTD termination studies. From 1999 to 2003, he has chaired on the Canadian Institute of Actuaries Board of Directors and he currently chairs on the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association Strategic Health Group. Pierre is married and has three children.
